Recovered from a virus.

When I dissappeared from the Portal the other day it was because of a virus my computer somehow received, it has been defeated now (by malwarebytes anti-virus) but it was really a pain and I wasn't able to fix it until today.

The virus is like the virtual satan, and spyware and trojans are the demons.

What would that make the Anti-virus?

Speaking of viruses, I got a story. My Dad (who is frankly an idiot when it comes to computers :P) called me once and said that "the computer wouldn't work". Trying to diagnosing it over the phone with him explaining was almost impossible. :P The best thing I could suggest was that his hard drive had failed.

After getting back home for Easter, I put his hard drive into my PC, and my anti-virus found something straight away, managing to blast it. It turns out that he'd clicked on a link in a phishing e-mail and somehow this virus got right into the root of his C drive.

That was a nasty one, but I'm glad you could get rid of yours relatively easily. :)

Luckily a guy at my dads work has had people come in with the same virus alot, so I was able to get a quick solution. Go into Safe mode with networking, install and run Malwarebytes, the virus can't interrupt or close it without your permission while in safe mode, virus removed, done.

Sounds like you dad has the same kind of job as mine o.o
